Walt Whitman Poetry

Love the earth and sun
and Animals Despise riches give alms
to everyone that asks
stand up for the stupid and
crazy devote your income and labor
to others
and your very flesh shall be a
great poem

Long Enough dreamed contemptible dreams
Now I wash the gum from eyes

You must habit yourself to the dazzle of the light
and of every moment of your life

Long Have you timidly waded holding a plant by the shore
Now I will You to be a bold swimmer

To jump off in the midst of the rise again nod to me shout
And laughingly dash with your hair

Falling to fetch me at first
keep encouraged
Missing me
One place
Search
another
I stop
Somewhere
waiting
For You

Afoot and light hearted I take to the open road
Healthy free the world before me

The Long Brown Path Before me
Leading wherever I choose
